Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle Tips & Favourites

There are a couple of outstanding selections that are among the Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle favourites 2022. You can learn more about those runners below.

Kilcruit

Kilcruit will be the clear favourite in the for the 2022 Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle. The six-year-old trained by Willie Mullins, and owned by Miss M A Masterson, has won three from five starts. He was denied a first Festival winner in 2021, as he finished half a length behind Sir Gerhard in the Champion Bumper, but he is the clear favourite to reverse that form in 2022.

He returned to the track after that defeat at Punchestown, as he won the Supporting Irish Store Sales Champion INH Flat Race, which was a Grade 1. It will be fascinating to watch his odds over the next 12 months, as they could shorten depending on how he takes to the hurdles.

Jonbon

Jonbon is also a leading contender according to the Ballymore Novices’ odds. He is a slightly bigger price than the favourite but is held in high regard by trainer Nicky Henderson.

The five-year-old French-bred horse has only run on two occasions to date, but has won on both occasions. His first run came at Dromahane in a maiden in November.

He was certainly the star of the day on that occasion, as he won by 15 lengths. His progression was clear to see on his first start this season at Newbury, as he won the BetVictor Standard Open National Hunt Flat Race by four and a quarter lengths with Nico De Boinville onboard.
