Kilcruit will be the clear favourite in the for the 2022 Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle. The six-year-old trained by Willie Mullins, and owned by Miss M A Masterson, has won three from five starts. Jonbon is also a leading contender according to the Ballymore Novices’ odds. He is a slightly bigger price than the favourite but is held in high regard by trainer Nicky Henderson.
The five-year-old French-bred horse has only run on two occasions to date, but has won on both occasions. His first run came at Dromahane in a maiden in November.

The Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle was established in 1971, and previously went by the name of the Aldsworth Hurdle.

The purse was slowly lower for the 2021 renewal, as winning connections in 2020 receiving £70,337 following Envoi Allen’s victory.

The Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle is another race at the Cheltenham Festival that has been dominated by the team of Ruby Walsh and Willie Mullins. Both trainer and jockey have won on four occasions with the same rides.
